I  just put in aftermarket arial with 3 leads and would like to modify the antenna switch to raise and lower it (ie bypassing the mitsi antenna relay).

Just thinking of putting a 12v supply to the switch, and output probably to a relay which will then put 12v to the arial. Just pulled the switch out and there are 5 wires on the back of this switch - bit more than I was expecting, so can I safely just cut them all and install the new circuit I'm talking about without affecting anything else? Can't find a wiring diagram for this anywhere so a bit in the dark

Wires are coded: white/black: black/yellow: grn/whi: wh/red: wh/grn. But will cutting them disable anything other than the antenna relay?

Ta muchly.
BTW if you put an aftermarket e/arial in be aware that the mitsi original is quite thin and theres not much room. - I had to trim  the inner wing slightly to make the new on fit - fine because I had the wing off anyway for something else, but a *beep* otherwise Evil or Very Mad

just to close this for anyone else looking - I checked all the voltages on the wires and there was just one that carried 0.12volts - presumably from the antenna relay. So I've just re-wired the switch with 12v from the trigger wire on the radio with the return going to the ariel trigger. Hopefully the switch is capable of carrying a 12v load when the radio is on and ariel is up!
