Hi guys been strolling through the threads on how to change my ATF on my 2005 3.2 mk3, this is the second beast I had, the first was a 3.5. I change the ATF on that by removing the hose at the front and running the beast for about 20 seconds , until I got quite a bit of the old fluid out, however I cant seem to find that thread to which pipe I disconnect. This 3.2 has passed MOT with no advisories, happy days, I want to keep this for as long as, I had the 3.5 for over 4 years, did not have any problems with it, so far this has been the same, I have serviced it myself no issues, but now I want to change the ATF, I have 10litres  of it, any help would be greatly appreciated and pictures even better. Got the manual but not really helpful. Thanks again in advance.

Is the the thread you're looking for?

Gen3 : DIY - Auto Transmission fluid change

The thing to realise is that the pipes to and from the oil cooler go into the gearbox at different heights (levels).  The pressure side is the lower one, as the oil is coming from the gearbox sump. It's returned through the pipe that enters the gearbox higher up. Much like the oil flow in an engine - the oil is pumped from the bottom to the top and then flows down with gravity.

So now you can work out which end of the pipe is going to let the oil flow out once the connection is broken.

I forward flushed mine which meant I didn’t have to remove anything except the oil cooler line. The transmission pumps itself out if idled in neutral.
