I had to jump start the car, so was quite flat. I've previously had the throttle body off and it was quite clean. What do I need to do to reset it? I can give that a shot later today |

disconnect the battery for a good 10/15 minutes, then reconnect the battery, turn your ignition to ignition lights on and then off within 1 second, wait a minimum of 15 seconds then start the engine, run engine untill full operating temp is acheived then switch the engine off wait 30 seconds turn ignition on to ignition lights then off within 1 second then wait 15 seconds then start engine check idle speed |

Managed to reset the throttle body this morning and the issue is still there. Do you have any other suggestions? I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out. Been scratching my head with this one for a while. |

only thing i can think off has someone messed with the idle screw on the throttle body, the only way i can tell you to check is remove the air feed pipe from the throttle body so you can see the plate, turn the ignition on but do not start the engine, the throttle body plate should move to an open position but only a little maybe 2mm if it,s more than that then someone has had there paws in there where they should not have |

Unfortunately not managed to fix it yet. I started up a new business so the Pajero has been sitting on the driveway waiting for me to get a chance to look at it. The value of the car is not much, so it's not worth putting into a garage for them to charge me a small fortune to look at it. If you find a solution or have any ideas, then let me know.
Cheers, Scott |

Hi Guys
I have a cheap bluetooth dongle which works well for reading codes and also allows me to clear them. Search for "ELM327" and they are usually under £10, I use this with a free App called "Car Scanner ELM327 OBD2" from Google Play which can read all the Mitsubishi codes. I can get a live readout of error codes and readings from sensors, it can be plugged in and working whilst driving, the only minor issue is the speedo stops working!
I would suggest you get one of these scanners, clear all the error codes and see what comes back first. This might give you a good place to start?
Hope this helps

Did you find the issues?
Have you looked into the egr valve? My shogun 3.5v6 gdi is having similar issues and I believe it to be the egr valve playing up as they can get stuck and then start working again. Does the engine management light go on and off? |
