|
|
Hi folks,
Picked up a SWB Mk1 some weeks ago after I saw it advertised. I actually bought it blind, which is a normally a crazy thing to do, but I thought it might be worth the risk. Happy to say it was! For a near 30 year old car the condition is quite remarkable. I wasn't sure if I wanted it as a project, but I'm now convinced it has to be done.
The chassis is excellent, as is the majority of the car. Sure there are areas that require attention, but nothing insurmountable. I wanted to post some pics showing how it has arrived but the site wouldn't allow it, thought it would be interesting to share. If enough interest I'll start a restoration thread to show progress.
No doubt I'll ask some questions along the way. What frightens me most, is the availability of parts! |

Congrats on your purchase.
For parts, try various Mitsubishi agents. I've had great success in all that I've needed for brakes, steering, glow plugs, trim and even a front windscreen rubber, the latter from a UK agent.
Milner off road also offer a range of parts. |

Okay 10 posts made. Hopefully I can now post some pics of what I've taken on. Any pointers, tips or advice gratefully received!
Still has the original wooden steering wheel and white steelies! |

Hi Toshers,
Hope the restoration project is going well!
I'm possibly going to be doing exactly the same thing and wondered how you have got on with obtaining parts and if they are expensive.
Alternatively the one I'm looking at may be sold as a comlete car for spares. (2.5 petrol)
Cheers
John. |
