Has anyone had their shogun re-mapped?
Mine has what I consider to be adequate power, but only adequate, so was thinking of a re-mapp.
Anyone had it done & if so was the increase in power noticeable? Local place to me says they can take my 160 odd bhp up to 180 odd and improve my mph by at least 10% for under £400.
Any other upgrades I can do to get that bit more power?
Any advice be appreciated
Thanks

I was not over struck on mapping as of course it alters params. I decided on a box(dont mean a £20 ebay special with resisters!). TDI tuning mancester, i called in, they flashed with latest firmware. 7 maps to choose, plugs into fuel rail, also plugs into boost sensor. Great set of guys, very helpful and yes quite a difference. Mine is 240/550nm standard, now over 300/638nm, boost is more noticeable as is the waste gate/actuator noise. It already pulled like a train, now even more effortless. I can put foot down at 30, in 4th gear(auto) not enough to kick down. It is just fast instant progression. The ecu is still in control of everything, just more fuel/boost when called on. Normal driving appears always in the power band........basically it drives awesome.
Looked yours up and looks impressive.

Some love, other hate, mapping will get a little better results over generic. But i dont ant it pushed or its neck rung to limits. I can unplug and remove in minutes if i decide to.
There is a place down south to, also deliver, also 30 days money back if not happy. Some of the motors on FB have been very impressive they have worked with, Bentley's to RS6, to you name it!
Just worth a look imo
Cheers
Presume yours, if not it will be similar

I’ve used TDI Tuning twice, with their first tuning box and now with the latest version. They are chalk and cheese with the first being very crude and the latest as good as a remap. I don’t have one on the Shogun but have had it fitted in the BMW 3 series for about two years and it’s been faultless. Never needed to put it on the maximum settings and even on the low to mid settings there is a very noticeable power increase without loosing traction all the time. |

Isn't the advantage of a re-map is that it isn't visible.
If you have a chip then it's obvious you've modified the vehicle and hence could have insurance implications. |
