1994 2.8 TD SWB - Mileage 388,734km

Hi folks,

Unfortunately the old girl failed the pre MOT test.

Here is a breakdown of the defects, as mentioned:

Integral body structure or chassis has excessive corrosion within 30cm of a body mounting - offside front (inner arch near chassis mount)
Integral body structure or chassis has excessive corrosion within 30cm of a body mounting - offside front (inner arch near break servo)
Integral body structure or chassis has excessive corrosion within 30cm of a body mounting - nearside front (inner arch)
Integral body structure or chassis has excessive corrosion within 30cm of a body mounting - offside front (offside front floor near chassis mount)
Integral body structure or chassis has excessive corrosion within 30cm of a body mounting - offside rear (inner sill near chassis mount)

I'm sure it's nothing you havent seen before Confused ... any ideas of repair costs?

And can you reccomend who/where to get it repaired?

Would love to try and keep her on the road if possible.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers.

Mike.

Buy yourself a tidy mig welder, practice with it and then do the repairs yourself. If you pay a garage to do it, you'd probably spend more than the vehicle is worth!
Invest in a decent welder, get your hands dirty and give it a go. Smile
