Lost completely - I am trying to locate the glow plug relay unit in my engine bay and haven't got a clue what it looks like. Someone did some work on it today and said they fixed the issue which they haven't.

Could anyone advise - I have a 2.5TD SWB 4D56 engine

2.5s usually have two relays ( hence the two clicks) just behind the battery

after a little more research there could be a glow plug control unit which is located behind the plastic cover in the passenger footwell
ive found a post on the net by a guy who had problems it turned out that he had some water leak problems in there which corroded the terminals on the control unit he cleaned it all up and it solved the problem

Most 2.5 Pajeros/Shoguns have the quick start system which means 2x heater plug relays, one powered up the 6 volt plugs with 12 volts for a second pre start, the other pulses the plugs with voltage once the engine is running for a minute or two, these relays are controlled by a heater plug control unit usually somewhere behind the glove box..... both relays are located between the two batteries OR if you only have the one (front) battery they are fitted to the rear of the battery shelf.

As far as i know the 2.5 Shogun Sports only have 1 heater plug relay......... or at least the few i have seen do  Very Happy
