Hi, I have a shogun sport 2.5 turbo diesel. 2005. The car has an oil pressure gauge which works perfectly well.  But the oil level light which lights on the first stage of the ignition has stopped working. The red oil can with the wavey line underneath. Just under the temp gauge on the bottom right side of the dash. The bulb is ok , I have removed the dash and checked. I have the main dealer workshop manual. But I can't find where the oil level relay is. Is the a sensor in the sump? Where is the connector into the sump? Any help would be great.

Hi JF,

I have an older version Sport (2001) so don't know if it is the same.
The Pressure gauge is fed from a sender just below the oil filter (Single wire connection).
There is also a connection plugged into the side of the sump also below the oil filter - I think from memory that is the level sender unit.
On mine the alternator is also quite close by, check the wiring harness in this area and follow it up to the top of the engine checking for any damage.

Regards
