Hi all,
Great site you have here!
Recently done some work for a guy who has an old (on a D plate mk1) Shogun 2.5 petrol SWB. It's been kept in a barn and used to haul a trailor around his land. He's now sold the land and barn and looking to sell the Shogun. She's a runner but in need of a lot of tlc. Things I've noted - binding brakes, knackered tyres (obviously!) dodgy electrics (wipers/lights/horn) rough running probably due to dirty carb and *beep* HT leads etc. Brakes aren't great either. 4WD seems all ok.
I've had shoguns in the past for towing caravans and do have a fondness for them and although I'm very practicle, I'm no mechanic or restorer.
My questions to those in the know are;
1) Is there much interest in these.
2)Should I advise him to scap it.
3)Should I take it on as a project.
4)What should I pay for it if yes to no.3!
5)What's a restored Mk1 petrol worth.

Sorry for all the questions but would like to help him out and he's keen on it going to a good home.
Unfortunately this is the only picture at the moment. (hopefully attached).

Cheers,
John.

If it is petrol, then the engine is 2.3 litre. The older models were not as powerful as later 2.3s so maybe not an ideal towing truck.
