Battery Tray size - Shogun Sport Equippe

My car is a Mitsubishi Shogun Sport Equippe - registered 09/05 (UK 09/06).

Wondering if anyone has tried installing a longer battery in the tray (I think it is what is called a Group 27).  As far as I can tell (without removing the existing battery) the tray would take about 302mm or maybe a little more. The edges are a bit flexible, but I'm unsure if it would take 315mm - which is the length of the battery I am interested in getting.
