|
|
Hey! I am new here and coming from Iceland.
I bought my first 4x4 car (Excluding my beloved Subaru Legacy gen3 wagon that I lifted 2,5 inches )
and it won't start. The previous owner told me that the crank sensor by the crank pulley is bad, so I changed it with a used but looking new OEM sensor, and it wont start again. (Waiting for brand new sensor, if that is the issue)
I have a good fuel pressure, I get spark, and compression is ok, could it be the sensor or does the Pajero suffer a electrical issues that MMC has declared a flaw?
The details about the car is here below:
MMC Pajero V6 GDI 7 seater 2000 model year
261.000km on the clock
Oil changed at regular intervals
Engine: 6G74 DOHC 24valve
thanks in advance!

EDIT
Just talked to my uncle who is a expert on these Pajero cars, he said it's just this sensor, once its bad, change it.
But how is this sensor replaced? This sensor is a disk type, so it would be same as (not as same) replacing brake pads.
Any service manuals for these cars? |

the disc type i presume is the flag wheel which is behind the crank sprocket this flag wheel passes through a hall type sensor which is usually bolted right next to the timing crank sprocket, close enough for the blde to pass through |

Is it recommended to use OEM parts or go full cheap on aftermarket ones? |

Very much doubt there would be any cheap versions about, these things tend to be OEM only. |

Yea, my autopart store fu**ed me so bad on Friday, sold me sensor for 2.5ltr diesel and they would order OEM sensor from the dealership at the same price as aftermarket ones.
Price for the aftermarket (IN ISK): 16.990
Price for OEM: 45.995
Kinda looking forward driving this car, haha |

UPDATE:
Car won't now spark!
Could be a ECU problem or coil packs, which is strange, because the coilpacks are NEW.
Or what do you think? |
