I've picked up a Shogun Sport 3litre V6 auto (Hreg) and the engine gets incredibly hot. The temperature guage is fine and stays constant but the engine itself emits a LOT of heat to the point where you can feel it in waves from the wheel arches and the panels become hot to touch, any thoughts?

Fit an after market temperature gauge to read actual rather than perceived temps. Then go on from there.

Mine does the same - 1999 V6 24 valve. Also, the exhaust gets very hot too (at the rear). But it has never been any different in the 4 1/2 years we’ve owned it.

An infra-red non-contact thermometer is useful for these situations. They can be bought cheaply nowadays.

I have a Stanley branded one that came from Screwfix which I would recommend.

They make measuring engine temperatures at specific points simple.
