Hi All, this is my first post, sorry I'm asking for help!
I have a 2011 197bhp Shogun with the standard "Rockford Acoustic Design" sound system. Of late the sound has become intermittent, it plays a song for maybe 10 seconds, then cuts off for maybe 2 seconds, then plays again for another 10, then cuts off for 2 seconds, and so on. It's very annoying! I have lots (maybe 100) of cds recorded onto the hard drive, and thought I may have overloaded it, however it does the same thing if I play a cd, or if I play my ipod through it. It doesn't seem to do it when I play the radio though.
Anyone got any suggestions? Either how to fix it, where to fix it, or even what to replace it with  Love this car, I've had J E E P S for the past 12 years but decided to have a change and so far haven't regretted it, but this sound thing is driving me nuts.

| Sounds like a bad sector on the hard drive. Not sure if you have the option to format it but this would obviously remove any music you have stored on it. |

I could delete all the music, but as it does it on cd, bluetooth and ipod too I'm not sure whether it would make any difference? |

Sorry I don't really understand this comment. Deletes them all what?
Anyway, in a fit of minor rage yesterday afternoon I deleted all 90 odd albums that were on the hard drive. The sound is still intermittent on the other functions, for example radio, Bluetooth etc, so that didn't work. |

I thought you said it was OK on the radio - If the problem's there all the time it's one of two things.
The power cables to the amp are damaged or loose.
The audio connections to the amp are damaged or loose.
IIRC the head unit talks to the amp via Canbus or similar (although I could have dreamt that - someone will be along soon to clarify) so it could be a Canbus issue. |

| Sorry, I though it was ok on radio but it turns out it's not. I wasn't aware if it had an amplifier or not, or where it is? That would be a good place to start! |

And the answer was .... unplugged it, plugged it back in, now it works. God knows why ! |
