I own a 1995 pajero 2.8 turbo which has been running perfectly (100,000) miles whist on the motorway I heard a loud 'crackling' sound from the nearside it lasted 10 seconds then the engine died. The engine bay was flooded with diesel fuel as was the floor which also had a small pool of engine oil... any suggestions??
that's sounds pretty bad ive done a lot of work on these and never come across a problem like that
does the engine still turn over fine even after what happened
that's a bonus at least it still turns over ok
sounds like the injector pump has failed in some way have you looked at since to see if you can see any reason for it to fail
Diesel all over and engine oil .loud cracking sound. I'd have a punt at it lol but not without a bit more info. It really doesn't sound good to me. Please give more information I'd like to find out what's going on there
