I own a 1995 pajero 2.8 turbo which has been running perfectly (100,000) miles whist on the motorway I heard a loud 'crackling' sound from the nearside it lasted 10 seconds then the engine died. The engine bay was flooded with diesel fuel as was the floor which also had a small pool of engine oil... any suggestions??

sounds like the injector pump has failed in some way have you looked at since to see if you can see any reason for it to fail
