for my 2004 montero. i took out the original radio and cd magazine and walked them to the pier and threw them in the drink.
then i ordered an 10.1 inch screen 2din unit of aliexpress. this one here https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32868606764.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4ddEPSS9
then i waited
ok unit is in and i move the ac stuff to where the cd changer was. it moves over without any mods.
then i installed the new unit and i can have big screen and nav and all that android gives you.
next step was to sell that *beep* and drive my lovely gen 1 |

its quite an easy job dont make my mistake the first time i did it and secure the cage for the stereo on the inside where the stereo slides in (the gap is too big) the din cage actually secures to the plastic fascia that pulls off and to be honest its easier to do it that way as you have to remove the facia to get to the wires easier. |
