|
|
2.8 4m40 1995 paj, just fixed starter on my truck and was great , now every morning I'm having to crank for ages, like it has no fuel, one started it's fine for rest of day , only seems to be when left overnight, thinking maybe fuel pipe of fuel leak pipe , no signs of diesel leaking but have tested everything else, where to look?? Any ideas please |

It does sound like you may have a perished fuel pipe (or a seal) which is allowing the fuel to drain out of the lines overnight. Have you checked around the fuel filter area and those pipes connected to it. Check all the pipes for tightness or if rubber see if there hard and brittle could be just letting air in slightly.
Sorry cant be much help but im sure some one will jump in with an idea soon |

Checked all fuel pipes and cant seem to find any leaks, looks like I may have to just replace them all and see what happens then |

before you replace the hoses try and add a non return valve (inline) where the diesel comes into the filter that might stop the fuel going back into the tank |

Im surprised no one has mentioned heater plugs?
The first place to look with problem cold starting is heater plugs
With ign only on from cold the plugs should be powered up with battery volts for 10 seconds, you can check this with a basic test light or a meter, if they have power remove them and test them across a battery to see if they glow red hot within 3 seconds, if they dont you have found the problem
Buy new ones from your local spares shop NOT Eurocarparts as they are *beep* as are nearly all you will find online too so dont be lazy, loo, go to your local shop and get a set of 4 for around £30 and they will be good for ages....
If you have no power report back and we'll run you though the next stages of diagnosis |

All sorted, buzz bar was not given a good connection, replaced with new copper one and put a new connector on end of feed wire, all starts great now . It also now allows my remote start to work on cold morning |
