Hi all, i have been told by my garage that my transfer box is on its way out and that is the reason the car is so slow accelerating, so i was wondering if anyone knows where i can get one from ?

i own a pajero 1991 2.5 td  (jap inport)

I can't see why a defective transfer box would cause slow acceleration. Have you checked its functions? Do both 2WD and 4WD work OK?  Can you get low ratio?  (only use 4WD on soft surfaces)  Maybe also get a proper explanation from the garage as to why they think the transfer box is the cause of the problem. The transfer boxes are very robust and any serious failure would most likely result in a lot of nasty noises and possibly loss of drive.

If it does actually need a new transfer box, I am pretty sure that one from a Hyundai Galloper would fit. There should be plenty of these available from breakers yards in Spain. You will need to confirm compatibility.
