Wouldn't it be wonderful if someone, somewhere, had a new unused Cobra 8165 unit!?

Found some exposed 12V wires (missing insulation) around a blade fuse holder adjacent the fuse box in the driver's foot-well, along with other poorly insulated wires tapping into various loom wires. Looked dodgy so began ripping it out. Eventually discovered a Cobra 8165 controller behind the trim of the foot-well!

Thought I might do it properly and get some new fobs and touch keys which requires the PIN. Phoned Cobra and they tell me the unit serial number should be on a sticker attached to the controller - a label with a bar code and S/N plus eight or so digits. Nope; AWOL.

There isn't a plug-compatible replacement either so I'm wondering if some hoarder might have a control unit complete with PIN and touch key and fob(s).

Also noticed the wires which appear to be for the ultrasonic sensor are cut on the main connector and nothing attached to the R-US connector either. Is this standard in Shoguns or did someone remove it later? What use is the alarm without volumetric sensing?

They were originally connected and should be as standard, but often people cut them to prevent them working instead of using the manual to find out how to switch them off on the key fob.

Ive never found any snipped wires but doesn't mean they havent been removed, i have fitted the infrasonic sensor so i don't know if you are meant to have one or both of them fitted as standard.

The Infrasonic sensor triggers the alarm if a window is smashed or a door opened
Ultrasonic Sensors will monitor the inside of the vehicle any break in the line of sight will casuse the alarm to be triggered

So they both do different things so will have to have a look to see if mine had them fitted.

sorry correction i dont have the infrasonic sensor i have the microwave sensor

The sensor triggers the alarm if the sensor detects an object entering the projected microwave bubble

Thats what i have fitted above the driver in the roof behind the lining
