Hi all,
Looking at buying a 2007 Shogun Sport diesel manual but I have a couple of questions I hope someone can help me with?
My last Shoggy (SWB 2.5 manual 1994) had a rear diff lock  (Super Select?)
Does the 2007 Sport have a rear diff lock and if not how good is it off road (nothing extreme just a bit of green laneing etc)
I cant really remember how super select works other than engaging 4wd whilst moving
I'm pretty sure my Pajero 2.8 auto 1994 had Super Select but not a rear diff lock.
I'm confused even writing this so I hope it makes sense.
Cheers
Dave

The Shogun Sport doesn't have a rear diff lock as standard. I believe that some have a limited slip rear diff, but it's not common. 4x4s without rear diff locks will be fine in most circumstances. If one of the rear wheels loses traction, often a gentle application of the handbrake will be enough to stop the wheel spinning and put the power to the other one.

Super Select allows the use of four-wheel drive on hard surfaces as well as soft as there is a centre differential.  So four-wheel drive can be left permanently engaged.  The Shogun Sport doesn't have a centre diff so four-wheel drive should only be used off-road.
