Makes a lot of noise when travelling over a rough surface. Like metal clanging, sounds like the baffle inside the exhaust has become detached. I've been underneath but can't really find the problem. All I have noticed is if I push the block leading to the drive shaft up it comes down with a thud on the cross member, like it's missing something to cushion the impact. Wish I new the correct terms as this would make it easier to explain. I have pictures but I can't post them Sad

Anyone have a clue what I'm talking about?

Loose wheelnut cover! Unbelievable how much noise this made. Just bent the pins on the holding ring to spread them out more and now the cap is a snug fit.

Hi,

I recently had the same experience.

I tried all the usual culprits to no avail,

Eventually with some help I went under the car with someone rocking it and the noise was there like a metallic clanging.

Traced to the body / chassis mount rubber bush on the drivers side.

I oiled them and the noise stopped for a few days.

I replaced both front bushes and there is a thick washer that had rotted away on the drivers side reducing the height of the gap between the body and chassis.

Since changed no noise,

Jason
