I have a 2003 k74, had a new engine 2 years back and now starting to have boost problems again!! Have replaced the vgt solenoid (mr577099) after fault code 52 vgt cont prs, checked and replaced all vacuum pipes cleaned and checked operation of egr valve and also made the overboost vaval bar longer after code 49 overboost. The car can be driven all day without problem until you pull up at a set of lights (30-90 secs) and let idle, the ecu light comes on puts it into limp mode, turning it off for 10 secs does clear fault but it always comes back at idle. This is now driving me mad any help I would be grateful.

Hi i had exactly the same fault with my 04 L200 Code 52 VGT CONT PRS. There are two solenoid valves on top of the inlet manifold, drivers side towards the windscreen, one with a black plug and one brown. The valve with the brown plug opperates the wastegate actuator, when you start the engin the actuator should move to its stop, mine wasent. Replaced the valve and all now works ok Eg no mil light at tickover. The part number for the valve is MR204853 Just cost me £52.06 from the main dealer. Five minute job with a socket set and a 10mm spanner.
