Hi all I’m loving my 1990 exceed but as with most classics it comes with the odd problem, and my latest one is she starts fine
On the button mostly. However when I accelerate it seems slow to take off and when I allow the revs to die down or brake it seems to cut out . Having said that it starts up again without too much spinning over
It’s not missing as it would be if it was dirty fuel , it’s very smooth when it dies.
I’m wondering if anybody has come across this problem
I also noticed the last day that I don’t have wipers , now it was freezing
Could it be a solenoid or has anyone an idea I can try
Cheers in advance |

Hello. My Idea is, to go through the fuel system. Change the fuel filter and renew all the seals on that. Make sure all the pipe connections to the filter from the injector pump are tight and secure, or renew. Make sure the leak off pipes and leak off rail are all sound and secure.
Make sure the bleed screw on top of the filter has a sealing washer check the filter in the tank, ( if it is a lwb there is access to the
tank under the carpet in the boot) while you are doing that check the flow and return pipes that exit/enter the tank. check the pipes from the tank to the filter, (probably best to just renew both the flow and return pipes with flexible) |

Hi all finally managed to sort the problem out

A fuel filter full of crud and *beep*
New filter all well going like a clock
Now the wiper motors burnt out because the linkage seized so I will have to tackle that next
