Hi
The steering went very heavy on my 2.8 Paj the other night but found it to be ok above about 2000 rpm.
After looking through the forums it seems its the pas pump , so I have bought a used unit of eblag which I hope to swap myself ( hope its a gud un).
Any advice appreciated on doing the job, do I need a replacement gasket where the pump body bolts on , how to bleed the pas fluid etc.
Cheers all
Mike

Hello mm Very Happy

The pump has a large "o" ring seal. When i did mine i just re-used the one that came off with the old pump. While you are there, you may also like to remove the reservoir which has a filter in it and give it all a clean.

To bleed it, Jack the front up (both wheels) make sure there is  enough fluid in the reservoir, with engine off turn the steering wheel fully from lock to lock several times. check fluid, turn engine on (at idle) and repeat lock to lock. Return the vehicle to the ground and with engine running again, repeat lock to lock.

check fluid level again.

See you with  atf on your hands  Laughing

Mike, you do not need a new pump fitting.

The relief valve has stuck. Simply needs the pin removing and any burrs taking off it. Have a search for a how to or look here - - - > Power Steering Repair... Faulty Pressure Relief Valve  Wink
