Hello everyone, I'm Kyle, this is first post as I've not long taken ownership of a Pajero. I have the dreaded EDC type pump and having been through every suggestion and potential cure for this problem after trawling through the forum.
The problem is my pajero idle hunts. No cold starting issues, no stalling or cutting out. The idle is plus or minus 100 rpm constantly. If I switch on the Air con or heating you can hear the engine speed pick up slightly but it's still hunting. When it's moving and you're accelerating or cruising the revs are fine, but as soon as you take you're foot off the throttle and slow down for a corner/junction etc it starts hunting again. It makes any maneuvre at low rpm/speed extremely difficult.
I've spoke to a few diesel pump specialists including diesel Bob and they all suggest it oo be the electronic governor on the tip of then engine and as they are no longer available it makes a cure seem a little bit more difficult.
So unless anyone has a good spare edc type pump could anyone help with what pump would be required to convert it to a normal style fuel pump as there seem to be a few variations out there.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Kyle. |

I would say thank you for all the replies but...
Thought I'd update this as I have sorted the pajero and got a smooth tick over again and for a bit of hope or help for any others experiencing this issue. There are a few good writeups on here of fault finding different sensors and other pieces to go through. I followed the advice I was given and went steight for the pump. I managed to source one from a breakers and after much faffing about with the pumps in and out as the second hand pump would not put diesel to the injectors even woth the stop solenoid internals removed.
I ended up swapping over the edc control unit from the second hand unit onto my own pump. After the initial startup the idle was still erratic but in a different way to the original fault. I done an idle learn followed by a road test and can happily say its running the way it should be. Hoe this might be helpful to someone and if there's any other questions etc just lask and I'll answer with what I know.

Helo
Thank you for the update. So many do not bother even when they had some answers. Not many left on here that have experience of the later model, so I guess that was the reason no one answered your question. Any glad you got it sorted. |

"The new owner of the Pajero iO TR Sporty - LRXU2" refers to an individual or entity that has recently acquired ownership of a specific variant of the Mitsubishi Pajero iO, often referred to simply as the Pajero iO. Here's a breakdown of the details:
- **Model:** Pajero iO TR Sporty
- **Variant Code:** LRXU2
The Mitsubishi Pajero iO is a compact SUV that was produced by Mitsubishi Motors. The "TR Sporty" likely indicates a sportier trim level with specific features and design elements. The "LRXU2" is likely an internal code used by the manufacturer to denote this particular configuration or variant of the Pajero iO.
When someone mentions being the "new owner" of a specific vehicle model and variant, it means they have recently purchased or acquired that vehicle. Ownership might involve purchasing from a dealership or a private seller, leasing, or any other means of obtaining legal possession of the vehicle. |
