What is the model code for your vehicle? Is it a short or long wheel base?

This should be found on the VIN plate in the engine bay.

The code should start with the letter V followed by two numbers then another letter. After that there will be another code made up of four or five letters then a number.

I will need both of these codes.

With this information I may be able to find you the part number.

Hi Thanks for your reply. Enjin nr 4D56FC6656. Vin nr is V247401205. This is all id that is used to figure out parts, as far as i am aware. Short wheel base diesel model1996 showgun pajero. Thanks...

There should be another number in the engine bay which tells the exact model information about the vehicle. As far as I can tell, the first part of this code should be V24W for a SWB.

Also, is it a Shogun or Pajero? The Shogun was made for the UK market, while the Pajero was for Japan and other countries.

Do you have a manual or automatic transmission?

The manual transmission flywheel has a separate ring gear, while the automatic version is one piece.

The ring gears I have been able to find listed all have 120 teeth, but I will need more information to say for certain.
