Hi all

I am hoping for your combined wisdom:

I have a swb auto 2001 3.2 DID Shogun, its been fantastic and got me to Africa and back two years ago and lots of off-roading etc.

I put a second hand power steering pump on it as there was limited assistance. Fixed the steering...but since then when you strike it up within an hour or so of running it the revs race up to c.3000 then settle back to idle. Idle has been a touch rough for a while. If the vehicle is left for a few hours it will fire up normally.

It seems to run a bit rich (MOT guy commented on it).

The other night it hesitated a few times and then cut out and wouldn't restart. It runs with easi start. There is power at the solenoid (i'll check its resistance now I know what it should be).

I have fed it diesel directly to the pump (the hose from the filter housing) - no joy.

Do all the Mk3's have an immobiliser does anyone know?

On the injector pump there is some kind of valve with red yelllow and black wires going into it. Does anyone who what this is?

Oh and no engine management light on.

Any other ideas as to what might be going on here?

Thanks very much  Smile

Dan.
