Hi
I am currently working on a 2004 3.2 Diesel SWB Shogun Warrior, which I intend to buy.
However, it has a traction control light on.
I have a Launch X431 Reader but the Mitsubishi lead does not fit as the lead needs to be a standard OBD 16-pin but also a 13-pin male to fit into the two sockets under the dash.

Apparently, this is the only year this type of plug is need on.

Question. Who has carried out a scan/check on there's and where did you get the cable/plug from, please?

NOTE both are female sockets on the OBD system fitted under the dash.

I appreciate I can earth out the pin, to get a code, but I want a proper lead, please.

The 'first' socket is standard OBD 2 ( slope-sided 16-pin code D-23 in wiring diagrams); The second socket (rectangular 12-pin code D-22 in wiring diagrams) used by MUT (the Mitsubishi Diagnostic Tool) has pin 26 from the engine ECU and pin 27 from the automatic transmission ECU.

I should have mentioned that D-22 has 12 pin lugs in a 7x2 (14 pin) connector. The connector has this organisation (front side view):

Code:

25 24 XX XX 23 22 21
32 31 30 29 28 27 26

Thanks for that info.
Do you know anyone with this data cable?

As far as I know pins 26 and 27 are MUT specific; but you'd need to ask your diagnosis tool supplier.

This is a photo of the MUT cable, with ODB lower left, 'custom' 2x7 top-left, and MUT 43-pin D-sub connector right.
