i have a tti-550 and a amp im going to be using a 7inch magmount on the roof would this effect the compas and the altimater or not thanks

Though if you're putting boots on it, I'd rather have the aerial bracket bolted to the motor.  Just to give a more solid earth.

never had a problem with the earthing on the frontera for the boot it came direct from the battery i would drill the twig to the truck but the kids would probably snap it off

No, I only mean the aerial mount. A quick release aerial would solve the problem of kids breaking it.
