i recently swapped my mag mount for a gutter mount, since then my reception has gone to almost nothing.
I am using the original twig bolted onto the gutter mount - i did fit the plastic ring that is on teh mag mount and i am wondering if this is affecting the earth.

Nothing else has changed

Any ideas?

A gutter mount will always be worse than a mag mount as the signal will be stronger with the flat roof acting as a reflector. However, it shouldn't be that bad. Are you sure that you're not earthing the aerial stick by mistake?

When I plug swr meter in the dial doesn't move at all, when I key the mike it swings to 1.2-2, if I key mike with switch to ref it goes all way over unless I twiddle switch, is this right?
Sorry to be thick Embarassed
