Hi spence

Just found this

Ivor Green wrote:
I agree wit hte statement about checking the postion of the steering wheel befre wew change the arm , I have found time and time again that I pull a vehicle in and we have nice straigth bit to drive down that the wheel is out of line to start with , and I pop in to reception and point this out to the customer , in most cases they agree and as I point out if it is out of line before it most definatly is going to be after .
I think I have put several postings on this , but the bottom line is as long as our guys remove and refit the arm with the alignment marks lined up there should be no reason at all for the steering to be any different after the arm has been replaced .

pip your heads under the wheel arch and give the arm a quick once over with a wire brush and see if yuo can see the marks on the old arm , yuo should be able to make them out , that way when it is returned to you , yuo will be able to see if they have done the job properly .

To be fair on them , when they fit the new arm there a line to line up , they will fit it in the position its supposed to be !
The sterring should only be out , if some one did not align these marks if it was changed before , then straightened the wheel to compensate

I have just bought a LWB pajero and have just found this site.
I rang my local mitsi dealer to see if mine needed the pitman arm renewing and it does and I have been booked in for next week to have it replaced.
So big thanks to this forum and it's members otherwise I would have never of known about it.

Cheers all

Not sure what it does but it's worth getting done if mitsi has recalled it.
I will be taking mine to Racecourse Garage in Chepstow you can tel them on 01291 623 885.

give them a ring it's worth getting done.

Thanks for the welcome chaps Very Happy
