Ok so i got the Maycom e27, went outside with all the bits to try and fit under radio in spare hole.
Nothing to fix to!!! so how does everyone fit their rig in theirs?
only thing i can see to do is make up new brackets and hang it off the cd/radio.
Pics of yours might help.
cheers

You need a trip to Halfords for a universal din something or other.

not sure if that would be small enough to hold maycom as it is smaller than car radio, but will have a look.
cheers

It does fit, but you have to cut the back off and remove the cassette holders from inside. Pain in the back side but does not show from the front. Once the back is off it is easy to connect all the wires to the rig.
The rig does not need to be fixed in as it is a very tight fit once pushed in.

Big cable ties around the radio.

found spare din mount for another radio, managed to bend the supports far enough to hold cb, then bent spring clips to meet cb case at the point where the fixing screws go.
then fitted original cb fixing screws against spring clips, pushed it all in to spare din slot, fixed perfectly; now just got to get/make surround.

Colin what are the 3 black things with wires on them below the CB? I've seen them on a few imports and curiosity is getting the better of me.

They are IPF light switches on a home made plate, there is now four on there, 1= front driving lights, 2= front roof spots, 3= front roof flood lights, and 4= rear roof work light.

Thanks Colin, I presumed that they were something to do with the car audio system, it just shows how wrong you can be Smile
