Although you should be aware that, even if the map shows a route, on it, it doesn't mean you have a legal right of way to that route, this can only be determined from the local authority 'rights of way' officer, and their ' definintive map'

I always had problems remembering how to use the grid reference - east-west first, then north-south until a sailor (!) explained it to me:

"You gotta get across it before you can get up it"

Somehow it sticks in the mind Shocked Laughing

Click below to get a map of any uk grid reference;

http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/oswebsite/getamap/

click proceed at the bottom then enter the grid ref, eg TA096827

and you'll get a map like this;



It's canny useful if you haven't got a map of the area
