I have 2 guards at the front covering the front part of the engine, and another one under the gearbox. As far as I know this is normal. |

as far as I remember, the front edge of the rear engine guard fixes onto the rear edge of the front guard with 2 small bolts, and the rear edge of the front guard is fixed to the chassis by 2 other bolts - but I could be wrong!
(Once I thought I was wrong, but then I found out I was mistaken!!) |

Thinking about it, I think that there are only 2 bolts holding the back of the front plate and the front of the back plate.
It's been a long day! |

You should have both a steering protection plate (This visble one at the front, and a sump protection plate (further back).
The steering plate is held by four bolt - 2 large at the front of the vehicle, by the towing eye and tie down eye, and 2 which also trap the front egde of the sump plate, and bolt into a chassis cross member. There are then 2 more bolts at the rear edge of the sump plate.
Removal on mine is not as straight forward as it should be though, as some of the mounting hardware for the bullbars stops the steering plate coming off over the towing ang tie down eyes. I have to remove this hardware (which also involves loosening the bullbars where they bolt to the bumper) to enable the steering plate to clear the 2 eyes.
Hope this helps...
Alaric. |

Shed
The bolts are M8x25Lg, the old ones may have sheared off or vibrated loose & fell out.
When you fit the new ones add a plain & single spring washer to prevent future loss.
Depending on the material thickness & ventilation perferations the cost will probably run over £100

As far as I know Shed, there is a rear guard available.
They come up on ebay now and then and the link has been to
www.pajeroaccessories.co.uk
They were polished stainless steel and were about the £90 if I remember right.
