after turning off the ignition, my CB always reverts to channel 9 (Emergency channel?) Does anyone know if you can do anything so it comes on with the channel I was last using?
Even if I don't turn the ignition off altogether so there's power to the unit (accessory position) on startup it still goes onto 9. Not the end of the world I know, but when offroading, when you're in and out of the car a lot, its easy to forget to reset the channel you want.
Do I need to find a perminant feed that's not effected by start-up drain?

cheers
Chris

Cheers Andy
Even with a permenant feed (accessory position on ignition) the 'surge' on start-up must temporarily interupt the supply and cause it to trip back to channel 9.

If it was wired direct to the battery I guess it wouldn't suffer from the 'surge'... I'd just have to remember to turn it off at the unit when not in use.

It's a Danita 1240 UK if that helps anything

I just got a Midland rig, and when i first switched on, yes it was on chan 9, but never sticks to it now, so not sure what the explanation is, unless the particular rig you are using has its default programmed to chan 9. Do you have the ability to store favorite channels ? if so, maybe worth setting one of those and try again ....

no Nick, no facility to store favourites (fairly basic Rig). I reckon it's a defualt thing.
I think the only solution is to give a direct feed to it that doesn't cut when the car is started.
