Do any of you know if it is an easy job to change the rear brake shoes? I am sure mine must be fairly worn at 98000 km.

I am also getting a grinding noise when I brake. I checked the front disc pads and there is plenty on them, even took them out to have a proper look. Could it still be the front pads I have heard they can become "glazed" What is this?

Thanks for that. My pads seem hard and glazed, perhaps this is why they are noisy. I am going to get some more, good quality ones, on Monday

Yes that is what I am getting a grinding, rumbling noise, seems like it is poor quality pads

How much is a decent set of disc pads? Say Ferodo's

You want ferodo's pads? a good choice as they are described as tough but maybe a little too hairy for your pajero Question Razz

BTW Guys and gals...

Any chance the "grinding noises" are coming from the wear indicator lugs
on your rear pads...?

Just a thought..

I changed my front pads for original equipment ones, not impressed! seems to take a lot more pressure on the pedal to get it to stop, wish I knew what the old ones were!
Any suggestions for good aftermarket, softish pads? Why are the Ferodo`s hairy Scott?

Now, it could be that the pads are fine and I am not getting enough vacuum from the silly little pump on the back of the alternator. Anybody changed one of these? Why, and how much are they?

So many questions.......

allan the blueprint adl ones are softish and work really well, ive just put them on mine ,but my dad also has them on his paj and has done for around 7 months now and they are fine,no heavy foot application required which is probably just as well because me mum drives it and she has only got little legs and feet lol Laughing atb marc

My original front pads were very hard and the car REALLY took some stopping I was very disapointed with Pajero brakes, then when they got low I changed the pads on the front, not for expensive ones, only Milners cheapies cost I think was £13 + vat, It was like having different brakes entirely, that was 6-8 months ago and I have no complaints.
