Well it worked, tools required, 15mm spanner and valve remover, removed old valve from a/c pump housing (front one) screwed on adapter, took it to garage who filled it with 1050 of r134a, drove home in sub zero temps, lovely. Who needs the £40+ kit, not me, cost just over a fiver with postage.

if you have had an r12 system filled with 1050 gram of r134a i would strongly advise you to get 300 grams out quick before you blow something apart when retrofitting you must put 25% less gas in as it runs at a lot higher pressure

hi guys the air con on my Pajero stopped working , went to a garage , they said if presure low pump wouldn't start and they tried to measure  the presure and refill but surprise my Paj has different screws on presure filling from what they have on the hose , can't measure or refill with gas. seems that I need adapters, searched e-Bay found nothing. a friend had adapters fitted and now he does the regasing himself ,(buying the gas from Halfords, in container and refils), but don't know where he had the adapters fitted , probably at some garage and lost his phone nr. to ask him. does anyone know where I could find those adapters?

Just had my 1992 LWB Pajero converted and filled with gas. Rang a mobile air conditioning company in Dorset area. Service was great and job done within an hour. Cost was around £100 + vat.
Company: M.Fall Refrigeration and Air Conditioning(Automotive,Industrial & Commercial)Tel: 07950 587234 or 01258 858699. I live in Poole but I think he covers all of Dorset. He was happy to come out after work. Ask for Mark!
