Hi

Can any of you give me an idea of the amount of refrigerant gas in a Shogun LWB a/c system.

I put 1x340g can if to my system to top it up, and it doesnt seem to have had the fully desired effect. Also added 114g of leak stop/red dye.

Compressor runs, gas flow through sight glass, with some bubbles in it. Also the low pressure side seems to be at insufficient pressure to start the compressor. Needs the "kick start" of a refrigerant bottle on it to get it away.

Compressor then runs, and I get some condensate coming off the coil, but difficult to tell if the airs much colder. Compressor also seems noisy in comparison with other vehicles I use.

Any other advice appreciated.

Cheers
Mark

Shogun V6 3.0 LWB 1995 single system = 600g to 650g doyble system = 1000g to 1050g

You said the comp will not come on with out putting the can on to the charge line this would point to an empty system have you leak tested it ? if not for all you know the gas can be going in one end and staight back out the other
the system should also be vacuumed first the get all the air / moisure out first before adding the gas because air in the system will cos it to over pressure

Thanks for your advice/info.

I'll get the vehicle booked in somewhere soon.

Anybody know anywhere reliable (and cheap!).
