dont go over 50/50 unless you have a dual tank system ! i have one in my paj. i start it on derv and when the engine is warm ( temp gauge at normal) i flick a switch ad it runs on 100% vege. the vege oil goes through a heat exchanger and the viscosity is greatly reduced, this is the only problem with veg oil. when its cold it squirts rather than sprays out of the injectors, where it will burn and stick around the injector and eventually block it |

What some people do
eg Put £10 worth of diesel (90p/l - 11 litres - for arguments sake)
and 3L of Veg Oil so it's a 1/3rd mix. |

But beware - either put it in before you go for diesel or afterwards (at home say) otherwise you look silly at the pumps putting veg oil in your Paj

My Mate and I are going to try this he has a Hi-Lux but we heard you have to change fuel filter every month, is this so and are there any other things I have to do, apart from the normal 6 month service. Also does using oil as well affect the Paj at all, as mine is for ferrying the family around, Wheel chair bound aon, and so I can`t really be with out the truck, Thanks for all help (on running a little cheaper ) |

No probs running a veg:diesel mix of 40:60 in this weather. Don't forget to declare the use to the taxman - carry Form EX 103 (downloadable from the net) in case you're stopped by police. Tax has to be paid AFTER use, so keep the form up to date and pay tax accordingly - still MUCH cheaper. No probs so far - I mix veg oil, diesel and bio diesel. |

Hi - back as promised. You need to phone Customs and Excise on 0845 010 9000 and ask for For EX103 - on it state you are a Vegetable Oil Producer (this is what they advise you). Keep a record of how many litres of SVO you put in and when. Tax is payable at 27p per litre. Hope this helps! |
