I filled out the online form at 2pm today and got an email at 4pm from Mitsubishi saying I had the Pitman Arm recall and the Cold Start Device Lever recall outstanding.
The email said to contact the dealer - I phoned them and it's booked in for the work to be done next Tuesday for FREE!!!
It doesn't really need doing because I changed the Pitman Arm last summer and the car starts great in the cold - but it will be nice to get some work done at a main dealer for nothing!!!! |
that was quick.. still waiting for mine.. |

Yep - it surprised me, I was expecting to have to wait for weeks.
My faith in Mitsubishi has been restored (almost!) |

Mine's all done but had to go back to dealer because they broke one of my locking wheel nuts.
Took ages to get them to agree to buy me a new set - ended up with me having to buy them and take in the receipt.
They said they would reimburse me - what's betting that they don't when I go in next week.
Try sending an email to the recall people to see what ids happening. |

just noticed that yours is a different model to mine - maybe they have different people dealing with it.
Did the Mk3 also suffer from Pitman Arm recall - I thought that it was only Mk2s |

Just looked Here
Recall only affects 1990 - 1999 vehicles so yours is not affected which is probably why you haven't heard from them. |

Just filled the recall info request, let's see what happens! Recently acquired a 98 2.8 TDS lwb 43k on clock like it's been in a museum! |

It only took them a couple of days to let me know - and dealer did it the following week.
It has taken longer for other people though. |

Just had a reply from them in less than 24hours, and mine is not affected by any safety recalls or service campaigns is what they said. |

Sent my enquiry on the 13th, got the usual 15 days message on the 16th and got the answer today, she's going in for a new one, free of charge |

I got mine done last year - nice to get something for free - especially from a dealer |

I totally agree and what makes it even better is that the dealership I will be using is owned by a previous employer of mine, we didn't part on the best of terms |

The dealer I used managed to break one of my locking wheel nuts so they had to pay £50 for another set - they were not pleased! |

Oh I'd hate for anything like that to happen |
