Fantastic, 100 views and no replies, well apart from ours Andy
Mark, I hope you don't mind me having a bit of a say here, but, seriously people, we want to help make the club even better than what it already is. So if you have any ideas, whether they are to do with events, local, regional and national, or if you can think of ways to help raise money to help with the running costs of the club and to buy new equipment for club events, please let us know.
This next one is more for the newer members. When you first joined up, was there anything you didn't like about the website, something that could be changed to help make it easier for new members to settle in. We really are a very welcoming bunch, and would like to see many more active members.
Please give us your views |

i think as it is the wealth of members will probably think the club is great and they get everything they need out of it,it seems to be the more wellknown members that want to change if you know what i mean |

Well lets turn the tables. What do the "more well known members" want to change?
Personally I find the site a great way to "loose" 2 or 3 hours every night. Though Sharon disagrees. I cant think of any improvements that need to be made. It has everything you could ask for in an owners club and most people seem to show the correct attitude towards others. Which makes it a great place to socialise. So three cheers for Pocuk I say and long may we sail in her etc etc.

Ok, i'll get to the point. One of the things that most of the members don't realise, is that it costs quite a considerable amount of money to run the club, and a large part of that is to maintain this website.
There are also ideas about getting the club to attend large shows, for example, the Japanese Auto Extravaganza, which this year turned out to be a very succesful event, and a great opportunity for the club to raise it's profile, but unfortunately the pocuk turnout was very poor with only a couple of members making it. What we would like is, to buy equipment, such as a nice tent and whatever other bits and pieces the are required to put together a nice stand, and then we could really make a go of it.
For this to happen we need ways of raising funds, such as raffles and competitions, and we would like you to suggest ideas.
We also want to know if you would like more events held, they don't necessarily have to be off-roading, if you aren't into off-roading, would you like more social events organised so that you can meet up with other members for a bit of fun or a sunday lunch and drink.
These are the sort of things that we are talking about, and would like your input. By all means if you are totally happy with the way it is now, then great, but it could be better |

I agree with Paul... the Club is superb... or else I wouldn't spend so much time here (would I, Mrs. Barbarian?)!!!
Yes, it's a shame more people don't 'join in', but isn't that the nature of the beast? Surely, there will always be those that contribute on a regular basis and those that just visit when they need to, no matter how good the site is... won't there?
When I was considering buying my Pajero... before I joined the Club... I found all the information I needed by just looking through these forums... the knowledge-base here is truly second to none! But, then, this is the only on-line club I'm a member of... or actually want to be!
If I was to change anything, and it's only my opinion, I'd possibly move the 'New Member Introductions' into its own box at the top of the page, so that new members can go there first to receive their warm welcomes, before posting in 'Newbies' and possibly getting lost in the technical questions and answers. After all, they may just want to say 'hello' and not have any questions straight away, especially if they've owned their vehicle for some time. Come to think of it, I guess 'Newbies' could go in the same box, perhaps as 'New Member's Questions'... what do you guys think?
Re. Mark's request for offers of help, I'm happy to be more involved if there's anything I can do... just don't tell Mrs. Barbarian... not that she minds... much!!!
Re. All those already involved in POCUK... keep up the good work, guys, this really is a GREAT club!!! |

"There are also ideas about getting the club to attend large shows, for example, the Japanese Auto Extravaganza"
That sounds like a good idea. This might sound daft but, why do we have to raise the profile of the club and get new recruites. Its not as if the club gets a cash influx for every new member signed up. Though 100,000 members would mean world domination.
Also I think the "lifetime membership" offer should be pushed more to increase funds. There doesn't seem to be any major advertising done throughout the site. Having said that, it doesn't need to be rammed down peoples throats either.
