We have a Lwb 2.5 mk 2 in with oil over the hand brake shoes
To change the oil seals the bearing must be removed and thats the problem , we've removed the half shaft and cut off the locking collar but now we,re stuck at the bearing , the shaft won't fit in our press , you can't get the back of the bearing anyway so anyone got any ideas what next as I sure I'm not the first small garage to attempt this Confused

Thanks

I used to do this on Cortinas, but it destroyed the bearing, Wrap it in a rag, place in vice nice and tight, and then hit with a big hammer to smash the outer. Then use a cold chisel to remove the inner part,
Or take it down to the local enginers and see if they will do for a tenner in their back pocket

Hope it helps

Yep entirely agree with the Wigganer (Thats a first) however when we used to do cortina half shafts we used to thin the inner race right down with an angle grinder, dont touch the shaft and dont let it get too hot, then its much easier to cut off with the chisel.
All the best

Thats for your Ideas lads but a Pajero rear wheel bearing is nothing like a cortina one as even our local Mitsubishi dealer dose'nt want to know cause they said its a really poo job and a *beep* design and there are no special tools available.
