Banham will be our first mega-meet and we are looking forward to it. Plus it's on our doorstep. If all goes well (and I'm sure it will) a trip up north sounds good. |

maybe coniston area, i`ll check for discounts when i`m up there at the end of August, and this is just a thought, but could this meet be open to all YD`s the numbers would be higher and the discount might be higher to match.i`ve ran this idea past the mod`s on ITOC and they are keen so what do you think |

Hiya,
yea - Mega Meet always has been open to all YD clubs ...... indeed it started life as a Delica Owners Club event that Ray organised, and invited us along to !!
so, yep Lakes and Conistone sound good - need a site with some facilities, leccy hook up etc - as we had some votes on what was needed for a Mega Meet site last year !!
I'm up in Lakes last weekend of August to reccie some !! - maybe see you there..?

so would August bank holiday weekend be the optimum as there is the opportunity for the longer weekend and the chance of better weather as well |

From discussions last year, date was relatively immaterial to most folks - so long as it was in the kids holidays .... 2007 is the first mega meet to be in the Summer .. the previous 2 were earlier in the year - this left Summer with more free time for other events..... and created another holiday date for folks......
Loads of discussions were had about facilities, where it should be, etc etc .. look through some of the older posts in the MM2007 thread ...tons of info, history, ideas etc which will give a broad background as to what folks want/feel about mega meet.
Any help, researching and checking sites for suitability for 2008 are welcomed.
Hopefully, all being well, there will be a sizable Festival that folks can get involved with, the last weekend of August 2008

Also, please bear in mind that 'ordinary' sites won't accept 50 of us over a bank holiday weekend - I know I tried for MM07 - as they are
guaranteed to get 'ordinary man off the street' bookings. They prefer Rallys out of peak season .... unless they have a dedicated Rally field
which sometimes doesn't include EHU .... us ladies to like to be able to use our hairdryers and watch satellite TV and ....... |

mm, parkfoot is indeed a good site, plenty of room for us, great laning, lots to do and see, a fair way for the southerners to travel, but well worth it! |
