plenty of camp sites around, like bellingham, byrness, west woodburn
and you have keilder forest on its doorstep
newcastle 40mins, hexham 35mins (depends on route taken)

Good suggestion and will appeal to many further North ...

Bournemouth - 368 miles
Please remember though - the MM is primarily intended to be social - with any (additional) driving as an added extra rather than the main attraction

£28 at bank holiday in high season (2 adults)
£5 extra person
£2.50 kids 5-14
£ 5 Awning
£1 Dogs
So if ist say August BH - thats £42.50 a night for me
