32/11.50/15 the 32 is the overall hight of the tyre in inches 11.50 is the width again in inches and last but not least 15 the size of the rim in inches |

The tyre size mentioned in the post title is not the same as what my tyres say, they have something like 265/70/R15, what is the difference in the names?
The final pic's show were they tyres fitted to 15" alloys?
I tried a garage who said that BF Goodrich don't make tyres to go on 15! rims? |
As Chrisland has said the 32/11.50/15 tyres refer to all the sizes in imperial measurement (a lot of off road all terrain type tyres are sized this way) whereas yours are sized the european way which is a lot harder to understand, basically 265 is the tread width in mm 70 is the aspect ratio of the sidewall worked out as a percentage of the tread width (i said it was more difficult to understand ) 15 is the diameter of the rims in inches.

I think I will go back and rattle the guys cage or just go to the mechanic who fixes it for me as he has a better attitude that the tyre place!!

Might tomorrow look at all the tyre size stuff to get my head round it! |
