I'm a delivery driver and delivered to a place called 'M+B Specialist Fuels', which is actually round the corner from our depot, so go past it alot.

I walked in through the workshop and walked past 2.8 paj, knew instantly what it was in for  Rolling Eyes . I spoke to the chap and said that they do 1 or 2 a week, and have been for a while now! Didnt know they were THAT common for it!

I started asking him about prices, and he said they charge £275 + the cost of the seal with is about £5. Now i thought this would be good for anyone to know that is in the south and not near Chris Cars in Hull. Unfortunatly they are not quite as cheap, but it would be good for us southeners atleast.

They said it 'can' end up costing more if there is damage to the pump for some reason or other, but said this is fairly uncommon and only happens when left with a bad seal for a long time.

They are a very professional place and are no backstreet garage, nice clean workshop and alot of expertise - and are purely diesel specialists - thats all they do.

I thought this would be good for people on here to know, like i said, £275 isnt the cheapest but atleast they know what they are doing and have done god knows how many!

Anyway enough of me babbling, they are:-

M+B Specialist Fuels
Parham Drive
Eastleigh
Southampton

Tel 02380 619655

Please note I am not connected to this business in any way, just purely thought it would be good for people on the board to know that there is somewhere good in the south to get it done!

Hi wrc

Thanks for that post - it could be quite useful for there are quite a few of us with 2.8s in the Sarff - even Southampton is quite close compared with Hull !!

Thanks again
