i have found if you use the recommended pressure as whats printed on door pillar the screech there head off at the merest hint of a bend Laughing 30 all round seems a good compromise and very popular by all accounts.

Probably need to get your tracking checked by a proper 4 wheel laser alignment centre.

I've had 4 different types of tyres on mine all running at the correct pressures and I've never had a problem noise or lack of grip.

If you run your tyres at too high a pressure then they will get hot on the motorway and if the  tyres aren't brand new and in perfect condition your asking for trouble.

I only stick to the recommended pressures because mitsi and the tyre manufacturers have a bit more experience than I do  Rolling Eyes

no probs with tracking the bit about the mere int of a bend was a slight exageration.but i found on roundabout i got a lot of roll so been running on 30 psi and no sqeeling now at roundabouts plus tyre wear is even across treads.if the lower pressures work well for you then thats a good thing, but for me 30 seems best all round and seems to be the preferred pressure for most members.the strange thing is at every garage ive had tyres change at they ask me what pressures i want in them,so if there was a fixed standard for a certain tyre wouldn't they insist on putting the correct pressure in them especially if it was a safety issue.

I don't think the tyre fitter asking you what pressure is a definitive answer, they are usually too lazy to walk the 10 yards to look at tyre chart that tells them the correct pressure.

As for most members running at 30, that has to be a pure guess on your part, there's 12,000 members and about 1000 regular posters (at a guess) and theres quite a few saying use what mitsi say.

But as you are probably getting at its down to personal preference. Spend a some time changing pressures at different times of the year and see whats best.

But if you haven't got time stick to what Mitsi say  Wink

youve got a good point there squeek, does anyone know the true pressure of there tyres.i put 30psi at one of them electric pumps and they looked well over inflated.checked at a bp garage and it read 38 psi Laughing either way i dont think 4 psi is going to cause tyres to blow out,if anything an under inflated tyre will get hot and blow due to more friction.
