|
|
I am about to get my Paj (this weekend fingers crossed!) and always have been interested in CB comms etc. I just wanted to know what people thought the best bits were about having a CB rig and is it a good social thing?
Sorry if thats a bit vague I just wanted to know what attracts people to CB!? |

i used to have a cb 20 years ago - anyone swearing was dealt with in house as it were, these days it seems teh norm to F and C and T the whole time.

Ive had a few rigs over the years used mainly in the trucks i was driving they can be quite a good aid in the haulage industry, but the one i have now is purely for club meets, its never in unless we are going to a meet. |

mine used to be on all the time just turned down low it does have its uses
who ever it was that broke into my lorry also stole 4 side panels and the tail board along with the posts
2 other lorries had their stereos stolen and diesel syphoned
have a seperate rig and twig for the paj |

I think most of the swearing that happens on 19 is usually by home base kids/teenagers with nothing better to do, unless it's to play music. That's what killed the home base channel 14 and channel 9 and is killing 19.
Most truckers either use their own net if they're in convoy, ANC use 13 for instance, or 35 which gets quite busy, especially at night with the night trunks but even that gets abused when you get near a place like Birmingham, some of the home bases there use so much power you can't even squelch them out.
Wouldn't hurt if it was policed a bit better but that will never happen. |

I'm not saying it doesn't happen but I don't think you can put it all down to truck drivers just because it's on the CB. |
