you must be able to get a mechanical converter, because mine had one fitted for SVA,before i got it,the speedo then keeps original numbers and gains a MPH sticker. The device screws into where the speedo drive cable was ,drive cable screws into device. |

Mechanical Speedo Converter
Details
There are two types of mechanical converter, a top cable fitment or a bottom cable fitment. The top, fitting directly to the back of your speedo, the bottom, connecting to the wheel fitting. You can use either depending on how much space is available
would this sort of thing work its from a motorbike site |

Hi Wiggletiger & Dee1
Thnx 4 the reply to my post.
I may not have explained myself as clearly as I should.
The problem is that the needle does indicate MPH but the tripmeter and the total distance done record in Kilometres. What I should have asked, "Is there any device that would make the tripmeter indicate Miles as opposed to Kilometres.
Thnx again

P.S. Wiggletiger where in H'fax r u ,and is Cullingworth any good for offroading |

Is this what we're looking for? A speedo converter that changes KMH to MPH and changes the odometer to read in miles too...

Thanks for posting the thread Fender, it's been pretty useful!

Hi Zoe
It does indeed seem to be the thing that would give you the required result, but I must admit I'm a bit sceptical about their claim that it also adjusts the odometer.
Not only that, to pay 65 quid just to tell me I've done 'X' miles rather than 'X' Kilometres especially when I've got Sat Nav that will tell me.
However, if you need to know what distance you have covered,go for it.
Regards

Hi Wiggletiger
Sorry, don't know what made me think you came from H'fax, however maybe through Barnsley tomorrow. My Uncle lives out in Great Houghton, just off the 635 towards Donny.
I'll try the site u gave me in a moment
Once again Sorry for the mistake
