The water heaters gone dodgy the water in the bucket is hot it takes ages to come through and it seems like some sort of one way valve must have failed because when i turn the tap off it sucks air and the water runs back in the water butt any body got a clue if its a new heater or a replacement part an easy job ect all suggestions taken |

just in case any one interested it cost £3.40 to repair the heater there is a non return valve on the cold incoming side of the carver heater its a doddle to change under 5 mins apparently its a very common problem the symptom is if you turn the taps on it takes ages for the water to come through |

When replacing the water filter housing unit ..... REMEMBER ..... to remove the plastic moulded section, which allows the cold water supply to the water heater.
Also
The element wasn't heating the water from the electric supply .... so we thought we would try the gas supply, after 3 attempts it lit (which we were surprised worked) .... about an hour later, after I had emptied the hot water tank down the sink .... I tried the electric heater again .... lo and behold it worked .... we think ....
The element had overheated due to there being no water in the tank and the thermal fuse had switched off the element, leaving it for an hour had allowed it to cool down and re-set itself.
So we now have working hot water - hurrah at last. |

Just a further comment on the subject:
Beware of the alloy tie bar shearing, they seem to easily eroded and shear easily. Spares can be bought and are useful to carry and generally easy to fit.
