Calmed down now
Well went for a spin after work (as you do) ....windows open ...tad of fresh air .down he D Road ..A500 in Stoke for the uninduced ...down to junction 16 M6 entrance
Got waved in along with 2 Trucks 4 Vans and 1 Car and myself
Thought no probs ..Taxed MOT'd and insured everything works
To be told my tyres are not E marked and therfore could give me an Endorcement on each wheel
Which= a BAN
BTW ....have to tell Kath this in the morning ........which is worse than getting pulled by the Police
the story is ............Changed my English wheels and Tyres for some alloys with M+S tyres on them of an Import Paj at a dealership who is a mate
Now need 4 tyres
They did let me go ....just told me I had 1 week to get 'em changed and gave me a producer
So the Moral is..............check your Tyres for the E mark |

unlucky nick,
of course you could always just borrow someone elses with an e mark to produce and revert back again after if you wanted (not that i would endorse such unscrupulous behaviour)
What are the chances your gonna get pulled again anytime soon... |

Nor did I until tonight
However .....looking at them ....when it was light ....a few cracks were noticed
to be truthfull I only noticed the alloys and avarice took over when I swopped them
In respect to Cheshire/Stoke Police they MAY have saved our livesin retrospect |

E marked tyres basically men they are fit for the European market.
Like when you anything electrical it has to have a CE mark.
What brand are they Nick?
If you have things like Nankang on they only have the E mark on one side wall of the tyre.
When I took the Surf for a SVA they searched for ages until the found the marking on the side with the white lettering, they where all on the inside of the tyre.
It might be worth taking one off and rubbing all the lettering with chalk so that it stand out more and then search on the inside.
All new tyres over here will be E marked.
2nd hand tyes from a tyre by law should be E marked.
So the moral is changed your mates
I bet he knew they were illegal becasue they failed a SVA on an import. Take them back and play hell with him

It's getting like France ( second thoughts - it'll never even compare to France until global warming really gets going, and the politicians learn to leave us alone and let us get on with our lives, and UK starts serious wine production... ) - they'll be after all the glass next - windows, lights, mirrors - all have to be E marked, as do the seat belts - all 7 of them |

They already do Anne, people who have changed over to clear lenses or Lexus style can be done because most of them don't have an E mark.
It goes back to the old one about changing your lower brake lights to fog lights, it will pass a MOT but it is illegal and if Nick's hd been done and they checked he would have been done for that.
The lenses is E marked but the wrong one. If you look lenses have E2, E4 etc on them, it has to be the right one.
I'm fully legal for a change as you might be able tell I think the pajero was. First cars in years always had a brake fog light change or tyres like Nick had or not insured for business, nothing safety related just technicallites
